How about approaching companies/potential sponsors with a list of options. Dew ideas I've had:
-logo on the projector. Essentially a static advert being projected ok to a wall (if that's something we will do)
-video advert (time limited... 30 secs?) Like a tv advert, projected on wall
-sponsor a stage: have your companies logo as the backdrop on the stage for the entire event
-sponsor a venue. Company posters/leaflets etc scattered around venue, also name above venue, eg "Stinx presents THE SONIC STAGE @the new market

Video ad - Simon Fletcher does this and I think we can get him involved in the festival. Sponsors - I will produce a 'prospect' list of potential sponsors and am happy to make some of the calls needed to look to sell opportunities. Bairstow Eves MD in Worle has already indicated a willingness to do something - A vibrant and active music and arts scene can be an attraction to potential home buyers/renters in the area

I have sent a message to Paul Newton (bass player - Eastertown/Dr Chocolate) today to find out if his employer, Tanglewood Guitars would be interested in being involved. Also asked if any Tanglewood backed artists could be asked to get involved/give guitar workshops during the day etc.

Ideas for sponsors - Subway, Royal Hotel, Parkwood Leisure, Davan Caravans, Grand Pier, Puxton Park, Wookey Hole, Pontins, local campsites/caravan sites, Saunders Gardenworld, Cadbury Garden Centre, Relentless, Thatchers, Butcombe and any other local cider/beer breweries, Skidmores, travel agents, gyms, Howards garages.

Sponsors.xls (12 KB) Spreadsheet attached: I will add others to this as they get mentioned. Some 'branded' businesses are franchises, such as Subway and I know the owner of the WSM ones. He also owns cafes in Bristol. I think that it is important to keep it 'local', so we can benefit WSM more than other areas. One other thing that I am going to look at it the coach companies that regularly travel to WSM from South Wales and Birmingham - they generally use the same hotels, so to advertise the festival via these coach companies could bring more people into the town. I am more than happy to make the calls to these companies to 'sell' the festival to them and secure support/cash.
